A lot of us grew up on the internet. By the time anyone paid us to make something for it, we’d already spent years caring about this stuff for free.

I never imagined I’d end up working with people I watched throughout my childhood. Then it happened, and it was so weird hearing them introduce themselves when I already felt like I knew them. Or thought I did.

After a while, I got comfortable and decided to try the corporate world. GTM campaigns for big tech companies that don’t play around. Quite a switch from YouTube, and a good way to discover that a founder running a $300 million company might not appreciate a joke about balls.

I still make them. Some laugh, some don’t. They’re generally happier once they see the launch video.

Between the two, I’ve spent the past couple of years directing video and motion design for multimillion-dollar companies across esports and tech, including FaZe Clan and Falcons Esports.

Working in both worlds has taught me a lot, and I’ve reached the point where I want to see what I can do with my own ideas. There are things I want to make without waiting for someone to ask for them, and things I’ve learned that I wish someone had shared with me earlier. So I’m making stuff, writing, trying new tools, and putting some of it here. Hopefully, you’ll find something useful for whatever you’re working on too.
